After losing our poor Gillian, Pickles developed a heart murmur.  Benny was so sad to see his mate not happy and very lethargic.  Besides, he no longer had a mate to romp and play with.  That’s when we saw an add for a rescue Dachshund.  I knew as soon as I saw his pic that he was coming to live with us.  Chippy is the sweetest, dearest, most loving little fellow.  Our family has been so blessed to be able to offer him a home.22809804_1505603969528871_272802763_n

Unfortunately Chip is a bit of a time waster.  But!  stay tuned for some cute doggie layouts.  He’s too gorgeous not to scrap.

Until next time, stay happy.

I love it when family and kids come to stay.  Recently I taught a mini album class in Inverell so my son and his partner, Anna Browning came to visit.  Anna came with me to Inverell and Joe and the girls stayed here in Tenterfield and enjoyed a winter’s week end (lots of things to do with the Winter Warmers Festival in Stanthorpe – ice skating and yummy winter food).   Tony was already here for school holidays with his son, Xavier, timing was perfect.  When Anna and I arrived home on Sunday afternoon the cousins were in full swing.  They’d not seen each other like forever but in true kids fashion time became irrelevant and they were enjoying each other.  They had also not yet met Tony’s partner’s daughter, Vivian.  During the melee that was Saturday and Sunday these two pics were snapped.  I think that the pics truly capture the shenanigans that went on and delight on the kids faces says it all really.  Our house is not really geared for children anymore, but who needs toys and stuff when Poppy’s mechanics crawler makes a perfect group buggy.  The Best things in life really are not things…….

I thought that the Delightful Daisy DSP perfectly captured the color and mood of these photos.  Bright.  Happy.  Sunny.  You can almost hear the children’s voices and laughter.

Recipe for Success:

There are a couple of discontinued stamp sets there but they just seemed perfect.

DSP:      Delightful Daisy

Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Whisper White

Inks:  Crumb Cake and Basic Black Archival.

Until next time, stay happy!

We’ve just had our grandson, Xavier, staying with us for a week of the school holidays.  He’s an absolute delight to have and we love him to bits.  It’s always a busy time when he comes and the week goes by so quickly.  Beach.  Camping out. Bike riding.  Park playing.  He loves his time in Tenterfield.  So in there somewhere we managed a lunch date with our littlest man.  He loves to go out for lunch/hot chocolate/cake/food in general actually.  So Coffee Break DSP seemed the natural choice for making a layout of these two young men.fullsizeoutput_1fff

I love this paper and it was such fun to use and this pic brings back lots of happy thoughts and memories and keeps me going until his next visit.  Roll on Christmas holidays.

This layout was inspired by Trinitypaperarts.com.

Thankful for Painted Harvest

It’s been a sad 24 hours at the Crouch house.  Yesterday morning we had to make the dreadful decision to let our wee Gillian girl go to wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge.  Poor Gillian.  She was a rescue for us when we needed her the most.  We can account for approximately 18 years of her life, the last 12 with us, so her life was full and happy.  However due to her age her organs were failing and she began to take some little fits.   I know she would hate not to be in control of everything and everyone so made the dreadful decision, that had to be made.  Gillian was feisty, courageous, gutsy, little bit bossy, demanding, endearing, loving, cuddly, joyful, thankful and many more things to us.  Above all she hated storms and this pic shows her in her fave place during a storm.  Under my desk jammed between the desk support and my footstool.  IMG_0096

Fly high little girl.  You will be sadly missed.

So.  Here in the South Pacific we celebrate Father’s Day tomorrow.  Both our boys are beautiful Dads  who ‘father’ very well.  Scrapping is always fabulous therapy for me.  At a time like today when I’m entitled to be a bit sad I decided to look to what I’m thankful for.  I’d be scrapping forever if I was to scrap everything.  But flicking through some photos I came across this gorgeous, gorgeous pic.  I love it.  Look at the joy on the children’s faces and the pride in the face of our #2 son, Tony.  His son, Xavier and the wee girl he fathers, Vivian.  They both love him and show that they are thankful for him in their lives.  Of course he loves them both also and whilst being a father and fathering is not easy in today’s times, I know that he’s thankful also.  I’m fiercely proud of both our sons and how they father and also honor their own father.  I have much to be thankful for.

What better products to use to celebrate my thankfulness than Stampin’ Up’s new stamp set Painted Harvest and DSP Painted Autumn.  It’s just beautiful.  Just what I needed to be doing today.

As soon as I saw the Birthday Memories DSP in the Stampin’Up! catalogue I KNEW I wanted to make a mini album for my grandson, Xavier.  He’s five now and loves to look at himself in the scrap albums that I’ve created for him.  He especially loves my mini albums and sits looking at photos of himself and his Dad, in each one.  I have you love this album I had so much fun creating it.

Recipe for Success:

DSP – Birthday Memories

Ribbons – Daffodil Delight double stitched, Pacific Point stitched edge,

Cardstock – Basic Black

Frame lits – Birthday Friends

Until next time, stay happy,

As you can probably guess from the title of my blog, my family love dogs.  Each and every dog that we have ever owned had enormous amounts of personality and were showered with love and affection from everyone.

This particular young man, found in the centre of a busy intersection at 5.30pm one winter afternoon lost and confused, was no exception.  Named after Monty Roberts the horse whisperer, Monty stole our hearts and gave us so much love and affection.  He was loyal right to the end when Lymphoma took him from us.  He was a bossy little bugger but so so adorable.  One of his favorite peeps in the world was our younger son Tony.  He loved to lay with Tony on the couch and watch the cricket.  Exactly what they are doing here.

Recipe for Success:

DSP – Naturally Eclectic

Cardstock – Basic Black, Whisper White, Berry Burst

Stamp set – Wild About Flowers

Until next time,

Stay Happy,

It’s been a fairly rough week for me.  Woke this morning and was so grateful that I didn’t really have anything on my plate that needed my attention.  One glimpse outside the window revealed a cold, bleak, windy day.  *sigh*  Perfect weather to hibernate in my studio and record some memories.  This photo was taken of our grand daughter and her netball team when she was about 10 years old.  Next week she turns 18.  Doesn’t matter how I do the math it comes to the fact that I’m running 8 years behind in my scrapping.

Within 30 minutes of gathering my supplies I’d completely relaxed and the creating was happening.  I’m so blessed to have a hobby/craft and the space in which to create to chase away the doldrums.

I saw this layout somewhere and saved it, but when I came to CASE it noticed that there was no watermark on it.  Shame, because it’s a fabulous layout and I intend to use it over and over with different card stock colors, DSPs and Textures for entirely different looks.

Recipe for Success:

DSP – Pick a Pattern

Card stock – Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Emerald Envy, Whisper White

Scalloped Tag Topper punch

Camera and toadstool images are fussy cut from the DSP.

Thanks for visiting me, until next time, stay happy!

Love and cheers,

Jacqui. xo
