Vintage flowers

March 31, 2010

With the release of Stampin’Up!s Autumn/Winter mini catalogue tomorrow comes this sensational stamp set – Vintage Vogue.   There’s just so many yummy goodies in this catty but for me the highlights are:

Unmounted stamp sets.  Same high quality stamps but now unmounted for you to use with clear acrylic blocks.  This makes storage easier and they are much cheaper.  (this set of 8 stamps is just $30.95!!!!)   However for those die hard wood mount stampers all sets are still available in your favourite timber mounts.

I must admit to be a real sceptic when it came to unmounted stamps, however I think I’m being converted.  They are certainly worth a try.

The other big news in this catty is the Big Shot.   Oh My Goodness!  I’m totally in love with this baby.  What an amazing machine that cuts, folds, embosses creases all in the turn of a wheel.   Also available to go with your machine are lots of dies, embossing folders and the amazing movers and shapers.  Very, very excitement about this one.

We also have three more ‘in colours’ being released.  Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Soft Suede and all will be available in stamp pads/cardstock/delightful spotty ribbon.  You really have to see and feel these three colours to appreciate them.  They are just gorgeous.

Another biggy is the new punch style.  There are three punches in the catty but my fave is the bird on a branch.  He’s just delightful and the new style punch is easier to operate and much easier to store.

Enough! Enough! Enough!  If you’ve not got your own copy of the new Autumn/Winter Catty just call or email me and I’ll happily put one into the mail for you.

Well, I’m busy now preparing for my family to arrive to spend Easter with us in Tenterfield.  The temperatures are now beginning to drop and the trees are doing their colour turning trick.  It’s all looking so very beautiful.

Have a blessed Easter everyone.

A Gift for a Friend

March 26, 2010
card, envelope front and envelope flap.

I have made this set of cards and envelopes for a close friend.  She happened to let it ‘slip’ that a collection of cards for all occasions would be handy.  So I’ve been busy making her a set.  I’ve just to do a couple of masculine, some kids and maybe some sympathy cards and then they’ll be in the post for her.  Do hope she likes them as much as I enjoyed making them.

The photo above shows one of the designs together with the stamped envelope front and the reverse of the envelope showing the designer paper flap.  This touch just really adds something to the project I think.  I forgot to photograph it, but the inside has the same image and colouring as the envelope flap.  Kinda cute huh?  The very lovely Teneale Williams has now got me started on decorating the insides of my cards and I’m completely hooked.

All four designs

This photograph shows the four designs.  They truly are very cute .  This stamp set is seriously handy.  I’ve used it lots and quite inexpensive as well set of four stamps for $24.95 Bargain!  If you are wondering how I made the scalloped edge to fit the larger circle.  Wander on over to Alisa Tilsner’s blog where she has a very handy tutorial on how this is done.

Stamp Set – Flower for all Seasons – set of four for $24.95
Cardstock – Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Choc. Chip, Basic Grey, Bordering Blue, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss, Watercolour paper (yes! some of those tiny images are watercoloured.  So easy with SU’s watercolour paper)
Punchs - 1 3/8″, 1 3/4″, Scallop circle, 1 3/8″ Square
Designer Paper – Sweet Always, Urban Garden, Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss

Turning Ten

March 16, 2010
Celebrating with great friends

I am fortunate enough  to have four of the most beautiful grand daughters in the world.  Tannikah, Lauren, Ava and Zaliah.  Unfortunately I don’t have lots of photos of Lauren, Ava and Zaliah. (their Dads will have to remedy that!) However Tannikah’s mum (my daughter Aedita) is a photographer so I have lots and lots of photos of the gorgeous TK.  This page is her tenth birthday.  She had only just moved to Brisbane and in a short period of time made three great friends.  Bridget, Imogen and Ashley.  Don’t they look glamorous???  Do you remember turning 10?  Do you remember being “double digits” at long last?  It was a long time ago for me, but I remember that day as it being quite a milestone.

At the top of the journaling block I’ve left a spot for Aedita to print the girl’s names.  I’ve pencilled them in, but my printing is no where near as good as Aedita’s.

Stamp Set – Party Hearty
Inks – Red Riding Hood
Cardstock – Baja Blue, Red Riding Hood, Whisper White
DSP – Sweet Slumber (that amazing double sided, heavier than normal) patterned paper
Buttons – Bouquet Designer Buttons (Riding Hood Red)  and Baja Blue corduroy
Baja Blue felt flowers
On Board Loads of Letters
Ribbon – Riding Hood Red Organza
OK now.  Chop, Chop Joe and Jason I need photos of those beautiful girls.  PLEASE???

Spotlight on 5th Avenue

March 4, 2010

I have a stamp-a-stack scheduled shortly and the girls have requested “something with 5th Avenue”.  Of course I love to watercolour with this set, but the thought of the time factor with that!!!  Seven girls watercolouring five cards each, hmmmmm…..could take some time (considering that they are also making five christmas cards each as well).  So decided to do a big version of spotlighting.  I’m fairly pleased with how these babies turned out and really hope that my girls will love them too.

Products are all Stampin’Up! of course!

Stamp sets – 5th Avenue Floral,  Happy Moments (SAB current)

Punches – Word Window

Inks – Stazon Black

All cards had Whisper white and black card stock

Perfect Plum Card – Inks – Pale Plum, Perfect Plum and Lavendar Lace

Really Rust Card – Inks – So Saffron, More Mustard and Really Rust

Bravo Burgundy Card – Inks – Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red and Bravo Burgundy

Pink Passion Card – Pretty in Pink, Pixie Pink, Pink Passion

Pacific Point Card – Bashful Blue, Baja Blue and Pacific Point

Come back tomorrow and hopefully I’ll have worked out their Christmas card.

These girls do lots of stamp-a-stacks.  Each month they make five Christmas cards and five other card (this month is ladies birthday – next month it may be men’s birthday and so on)  Come Christmas they have the back broken of their card made and a good supply for the coming year of various events.  Yes!  we even stamp-a-stack sympathy cards.

Enjoy!
