Animal Crackers in my soup and a wee sneak peek

Caitlin’s First Birthday

(Whilst working with this stamp set I cannot help but sing this song……..so much so now it’s firmly planted into my brain.)

About 12 months ago I posted some birth announcement cards for my boss when his wife had their first babe, Caitlin Grace.  Well wee Caitlin has already had her first birthday.  It happened whilst we were in the midst of packing and moving, so I was unable to create something to mark the occasion.  However now that my new studio is up and running AND SU has released it’s Summer Mini Catalogue which  features this adorable stamp set and matching DS paper!!!!  I’m not that flash at kid’s cards but couldn’t resist pre-ordering this delightful set.

This catty is released tomorrow so this is just a sneak peek at what is available.  Do you have your copy of the mini yet?  If not, give me a call/email and I’ll shoot one straight off to you.

I’ve taken a tip from the gorgeous Tenealle Williams and now decorating the insides of some of my cards.  It really does make them look ‘special’ and after all, what’s more special than a young ladies’ first birthday???????

Reindeer and Snowman Poop!

Reindeer and Snowman Poop

I just love being a grandmother to my gorgeous grand-daughter Tannikah (TK).  So when TK needed some wee gifts for her class I couldn’t decide what to make.  Then I remembered the little pouches that Alana Gallagher made last Christmas for a fete.  So thanks Alana for the idea and wording!  I’ve just finished 31 of these babies and my dear husband is now hot-footing it to post them off to Tannikah to give her school buddies.  We got caught on the hop really as her school is finishing for the year this Friday, which is really quite early,  so I had to get them into the mail today.

TK loves school and loves her teacher so we also needed a thank you card for her.  On short notice this is what I whipped up!

If you think that the sentiment looks a bit crooked, you are absolutely correct!  I was in such a hurry and didn’t reach for my stamp-a-ma-jig.  Darn!  I really needed them to be in the mail today so had to leave it as it was.  I really dislike doing that!  Next time I won’t be so lazy!

Do hope TK and Mrs. Tregenza love the gifts and card.  I must admit to eating way too many chocolate bullets as I worked on these.  Naughty Nanny…………………..

Stamp Sets – Thoughts and Prayers, Holiday Lineup, Window Dressing (hostess gift set), Thank you kindly, Life Definitions

Cardstock – Whisper White, Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Old Olive

DSP – Bella Rose

Punches – Both Tags, 1 3/8″ circle and scallop circle

Technique – Pen to Rubber

My new studio

November 18, 2009

My desk looking out onto the garden

View from behind my desk - still looks onto the garden

Other end of studio - still looks out onto the garden!

How blessed do I feel?  Look at my new area to create!   It’s finally coming together.  As you can see I’ve still some refining to do.  There’s another triple unit to come yet, the electrician still needs to put in some additional points so that I can get rid of the trillion power boards/extension leads etc.  However the basics are done.

This area wasn’t easy to organise.  It’s kinda like a Bay Wing on the house.  So there’s lots of odd shaped walls/sloping ceiling etc.  However well worth the effort when I can sit and look out onto the beautiful garden of roses, camellias, lavendars (a personal fave), hollyhocks, foxglove, tiger lillies, agapanthas.  Who couldn’t help but be inspired.  I love my new house and especially love my new studio.

Please leave me any comments or suggestions that you may have.

Amongst the unpacking I’ve been playing with the stamp set “Snow Swirled” so call back and I’ll post something featuring that set.  It’s one of those stamp sets that ‘grow’ on you, I wasn’t that fussed at first but I’m finding it difficult to pack away now!!!!

I know I should be Christmas carding……..but I’m not!

bug in a rug 001

Bug in a rug Tannikah

Well the new studio is ALMOST organised and I was already to sit down and create Christmas, but during my unpacking/sorting found these cute photos of my delightfully gorgeous grand-daughter, Tannikah.  (affectionately know in the family as ‘TK’).  I know that I shouldn’t be scrapping at the moment.  Christmas is near, but who could resist that cute face?  This is the first page of a double layout.  The spaces left are for my daughter to journal as she wishes.  That’s her job,  I get to do the fun part!

Cardstock – Sage Shadow

DSP – Washington Applie and So Saffron

Ribbon – So Saffron grosgrain

Punches – Rounds and round scallop

Our move is complete!

November 4, 2009

Finally, we have unpacked into our new home.  We are now residents of the beautiful Northern Tablelands town of Tenterfield.  Dennis and I have admired this area for quite a number of years now, so when the five acres at McKees Hill finally became too much for us we decided if we were to move it would to this beautiful area.

I’m not a big fan of the humidity on the coast so Tenterfield suits us very well.  We found this fabulous house with an amazing cold climate garden (will have to re-educate myself now on the gardening front – as to what will withstand the frosty temperates here and what won’t).  The house has a great area that will become my new studio not as large as the previous one, however it overlooks the garden so I’m hoping that the creative juices will flow.

My new scrapbook/stamping furniture arrives this week end so hopefully next week will be spent unpacking my supplies and getting into organising some Christmas workshops and classes.

I must thank my downline Dianne Pickford who so generously shared her recent creations with me so that I could have new images on my blog .  Check out the one below and stay tuned because I have still one more of Dianne’s to share with you.

I’ll be  back after the studio is organised with more of my creations and class details as well.

Cheers!

Jacqui

How to make a photo corner into a Christmas tree!

November 4, 2009

DianneCard1

That clever Dianne has made these cute Chrissy trees from the corner punch.  How ingenius?  I do admire those people who can look at a stamp/punch/gadget that was made for a specific purpose and see other endless uses.  I’m afraid I’m not one of those  gifted people.  However Dianne is!

Stamps:Short and sweet

Ink: Real Red, Whisper White Craft

Card: Choc Chip,  Green Galore

Punches:Photo Corners, Small Star, Word Window

Dazzling Diamonds, Glitter

Sanding blocks
